Election Team Training is offered after the August lodge executive committee (LEC) meeting for chapter election teams.
Lodge Leadership Development - All Arrowmen are invited to attend Lodge Leadership Development (LLD), a dynamic annual leadership training event held each January, to learn more about the Order of the Arrow and Colonneh Lodge and how to become a better leader. Training classes include leadership development, event planning, goal setting, and other tools needed to improve chapters.
National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) is held every three years. NOAC Training is filled with plenty of new opportunities to train the Arrowmen of today and those who will be chosen to lead into tomorrow. No matter what job you have in your chapter or lodge, NOAC will have cutting edge training sessions that will help you be more effective in your role. During the first three full days of the conference, Arrowmen attend training sessions each morning and Arrowmen can participate in established tracks focusing on sessions such as the basics of chapter and lodge operations, planning, service, and new technologies and leadership methods that will continue to shape your lodge. National Lodge Adviser Training Seminar (NLATS) is a weekend conference focusing on the skills and attributes of effective adult volunteer and professional staff advisers. It is intended primarily to enhance an adviser’s knowledge of and connectivity with the OA’s strategic plan, program and resources, while emphasizing personal skills that are essential to the development of effective youth leadership and ultimately the OA’s service to the council. A couple of seminars are typically held in the Southern Region each year.
National Leadership Seminar (NLS) is a weekend conference focusing on the skills and characteristics of successful leadership. It is intended primarily to enhance the leadership skills of the Order of the Arrow's key youth and adult members, as they seek to improve their service to the Boy Scouts of America and their communities. Lodge Adviser approval is required to attend NLS. Four seminars are typically held in the Southern Region each year.
OA Ceremonies and Dance Workshop - During this open session, get answers to all of your questions about OA Ceremonies and different styles of American Indian dance practiced in the OA. From what to wear, to how to make it; when and where to practice, rehearse, prepare and compete. This training is offered at University of Scouting.
OA Troop Representative Training - This training is for Troop and Team OA Representatives and their advisers (OA Assistant Scoutmaster) or for troop leaders who want to find out more about the program. Learn what the roles and responsibilities are for the OA Troop Representative and how to get the Arrowmen in your troop involved in your chapter and lodge. This training is offered at University of Scouting.
The OA Troop/Team Representative Summit is a training experience for OA troop/team representatives and their advisers held in August. The summit focuses on building leadership skills, providing service to the troop and working with the OA troop/team representative adviser.
The Philmont OA Adviser Conference
is for any currently registered adult Arrowman. While at the conference, participants and their families enjoy the many benefits of Philmont Scout Ranch and the Philmont Training Center.
Section Conclave, also known as the Lone Star Fellowship, is an annual gathering of Order of the Arrow members from nine lodges in Southern Region Section 3 (SR3). All Arrowmen are invited to attend. Conclave has a variety of training courses from beginner to advanced to help you be more effective in your role as an Arrowman.
